Not on the strength of outrage

Join us for a provocative message from guest speaker Rev. Jim McConnell, Minister of the Berrien Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, titled “Not on the strength of outrage” Drawing on the well-known Parable of the Good Samaritan, Rev. McConnell invites us to look past the familiar moral lesson about being a good neighbor and consider what might actually have been a radical and uncomfortable truth at the heart of Jesus’ original story. What if the parable isn’t about being a good neighbor? What if Luke got the context of the parable all wrong? And what might all of this have to do with modern day Unitarian Universalists? This sermon promises to challenge easy assumptions and stir the spiritual imagination. Come with curiosity—and see for yourself.

This service will be multiplatform–we’ll gather in person and online. See the tab “Zoom links” above for how to join us for First Zuumitarian.
