Diana Mendelsohn, with volunteers, will present the thirty-eighth annual Green Holiday Party on Sunday, December 4 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at First Unitarian Church. Featured is a make and take craft table to fashion lovely gifts created from upcycled materials along with fresh evergreen branches, pinecones, and other natural materials. All items can be wrapped in your own design gift wrap paper created with stamps, on site and ready to be placed under your tree. Each person can make one item.

The holiday tree demo will be the kick-off activity and held from 12:30 to 12:45 pm. Creating a tree from freshly cut evergreens and artfully arranged into a recycled bucket will provide for a unique and fragrant “no kill tree.” Diana created the tree after having no luck with the potted, real trees brought into the house always died, this is no good and defeats the purpose!

There will be a donation bucket on the craft table. Bring a bag of bird seed if you wish.

The crafts to be made include: Golden Star, Bird Feeder, Catnip Toy, Lavender Sachet, and Evergreen Swag. View the table of durable and Green Gifts. “It is easy to give green gifts instead of items purchased at the mall!,” relates Diana.

Show the ones you love that they are special with a homemade gift. Help the Planet at the same time you are saving big money.

This event is co-sponsored by the First Unitarian Church and the Arbor & Earth Day Resource Center of South Bend.
