Jim McConnell, Minister of the Berrien Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, titled “Donald Trump Really Can Save You.” Drawing on the well-known Parable of the Good Samaritan, Rev. McConnell invites us to look past the familiar moral lesson about being a good neighbor and consider what might actually have been a radical and uncomfortable truth at the heart of Jesus’ original story. What if the parable isn’t about being a good neighbor? What if Luke got the context of the parable all wrong? And what might all of this have to do with modern day Unitarian Universalists?
