🎤 Karaoke Night at First Unitarian – May 31st at 6 PM

Join us for an evening of laughter, music, and connection at Karaoke Night at First Unitarian Church! Whether you’re a regular on the mic or someone who’s only ever sung into a shampoo bottle, this event is for you.

đź“… Saturday, May 31st at 6:00 PM
📍 In the Sanctuary at First Unitarian Church – 801 E. Washington Street.
🎟️ Free and open to all!

What to Expect

Karaoke Night is all about having fun in community. This is a totally free, non-religious event—no sermons, no pressure, just joy and shared experience. You don’t have to be a member of our church to join in. This is simply about building relationships, celebrating creativity, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome.

We’ll be using the Sanctuary’s professional sound system, so get ready for high-quality audio that can handle power ballads, group numbers, and duets alike! There’s plenty of room for creativity and collaboration, and no pressure to be perfect. This is about connection, not performance.

How Karaoke Will Work

We’ll be using karaoke videos on YouTube, and we ask that your selection:

  • Has lyrics displayed on screen
  • Does not include the original music video, to help us avoid unexpected or graphic content

You can choose songs with any kind of lyrics you like—just make sure the video itself is karaoke-friendly. If you want to test your song choice ahead of time, just search “[song title] karaoke lyrics” on YouTube and preview what comes up!

Food, Family & Logistics

🍿 Bring snacks! You are welcome to bring whatever yummy goodies you would like to enjoy!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 All ages are welcome! Know that we do not have any restrictions on the nature of the lyrics of the songs folks select. If folks would prefer that the kids have a separate space to hang out we will have a babysitter on site. Just be sure that that you email office@firstunitarian.us and let us know that you will be bringing kiddos by May 26th so we can plan accordingly.

Why This Matters

At First Unitarian, one of our core commitments is to fostering meaningful community. We believe in building spaces where people can connect across difference, express themselves fully, and feel a sense of belonging. Events like this aren’t just fun—they’re vital to the kind of inclusive, joyful, justice-seeking community we strive to be.

So whether you come to sing, snack, or simply cheer from the audience, we hope you’ll join us. Let’s make some music together. 🎶
