Cranky Security Keypad (Relax!)

It seems that as soon as the temperature outside got into the 40s, the inside security keypad at the east door started acting up. Several of us have experienced some hesitation when keying in our codes, although we haven’t gone all the way to setting off the alarm yet. Just in case this helps – and this may be more wishful thinking than anything – it might be helpful to leave the magnetized fire door open when the last person leaves the church. This is not a rule, just a suggestion!

To minimize your stress if the keypad starts to beep at you: (1) Stay calm; (2) Enter your key code again, slowly & deliberately; (3) Take a breath and be patient while it registers; (4) If the alarms do start to sound, call Vermillion right away. Most of you have the phone number in your cell phones, and it is posted on the wall next to the keypad; (5) Key in your CODE plus the number 1 (YOUR CODE + 1) to silence the alarms.
