The next Parliament of the World Religions will be held in Chicago, August 14-18, 2023. Unitarians helped found the first Parliament, in 1893. Many UUs have attended the last several Parliaments, in 2015 (Salt Lake City) & 2018 (Toronto). Organizers of the Parliament expect “participants from more than 200 diverse religious, indigenous, and secular beliefs and more than 80 nations.” This year’s theme is “A Call to Conscience” Defending Freedom & Human Rights.” Early-bird registration ends December 15; group rates are available.
I haven’t yet attended a Parliament of World Religions, but my friends and colleagues who’ve gone report that they enjoyed it immensely—they met interesting people, learned some new practices, and came away more hopeful for our world. Anybody want to go as a group, this summer?
