I’m Too Busy to Be Well

While we all know that practicing wellness (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, relational) should be part of a healthy lifestyle, we often don’t have time, or think we don’t have time, to do so. We will explore ways to reframe our busy mind and life to create space for intentional wellness practices.

When Kindness is Cruel

We will explore how enacting rote kindness can be counterproductive and actually an act of cruelty. Civil discourse demands that we confront conflict and find ways to navigate it with compassionate communication. Prof. Russ is a Communications Studies faculty member at Saint Mary’s College.

Embracing Anti-Racist Activism

In this time of civil turmoil, it is pivotal for white people to own their whiteness and bend their privilege in productive ways. This means moving beyond being an ally for people of color, to become anti-racist activists. It may even involve “going low” to confront racism and advocate for racial justice.
